Responsibilities

Supporting, maintaining, and developing features for Availity’s Authorizations and Referrals applications

Working on a team with 4 other Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Analysts, and a Product Owner

Participating in daily stand ups at 10:30am ET

Gathering technical requirements and designing efficient and performant solutions

Providing input on programming or development standards

Reviewing, consulting on, and approving code written by other developers

Implementing a backlog of items to fulfill a focused roadmap

Maintaining and identifying technical debt

Applying micro-service architectures

Performing unit testing and complex debugging to ensure quality

Ensuring code is efficient, optimized, and performant

Embracing continuous delivery and a DevOps environment

Fostering a culture of continual learning

Required

4+ years of progressive work experience designing & developing solutions for business initiatives

Possesses a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

Leverages or knowledgeable of the following languages & frameworks: Java, Javascript, React, Node.js, Angular.js, GraphQL, SQL (Oracle & MySQL)

Designs using micro-service architecture

Applies Object Oriented Design (OOD) principles

Understands database design principles & query language

Leverages Git, Jenkins, Kubernetes/Openshift, Docker, or similar tools for delivery

Preferred

Prior healthcare industry experience is a plus

278 transaction experience is a plus

Experience with Microservices is a plus

Experience with AWS or other cloud service providers is a plus
