Responsibilities

Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, and maintains software programs based on customer requirements, using development standards and software development lifecycle processes.
Daily tasks include identifying requirements for digital transformation; planning 3rd party integrations, planning and developing native code; contributing to build vs. buy decisions; and coding, testing, documenting, error handling, and mitigating performance improvements in the development life cycle.
Develop new coding skills as necessary; establish repeatable guidelines and scalable standards; and lead cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that meet business, technical, and user requirements.
Evaluate tradeoffs for buy vs. build decisions related to technical integrations with 3rd parties or expansion of existing code.
Designs, develops, tests, and maintains software solutions to meet customer requirements, including analysis, documentation, error/exception handling, business process implementation, performance analysis/improvements, and technology research.
Establishes guidelines for estimating and planning software releases and documents best practices for other developers to use for sprint/release planning.
Produces development artifacts for complex applications, creates secure and high-quality production code, and maintains algorithms that run simultaneously with appropriate systems.
Plans and prioritizes work sequence and schedule to ensure each release/sprint provides business value.
Maintains technical skills through hands-on experimentation, independent research, training, or conferences.
Leverages expertise in cloud technologies, microservices, artificial intelligence, and other transformative technologies.
Collaborates with leadership, product owners, architects, user experience experts, and business liaisons to understand requirements and plan release cycles.
Proactively identifies patterns in data, processes, and system performance to drive improvements to coding hygiene.
Maintains and enhances existing system design through a solid understanding of architecture and test-driven development skills.
Research and develop new technologies to enhance current and future design, security, and system performance.
Shares expert knowledge in optimizing SQL relational operations, including direct query, caching mechanisms, and read/write clustering.
Leads DevOps best practices; provides full-stack design and development expertise.
Provides expert knowledge of code implementation, system integrations, and upgrades of platform infrastructures.
Provides expertise analysis and identifies tradeoffs for new and existing applications.
Plans work schedules and estimates for project management and resource coordination to ensure each release provides business value.
Works closely with Infrastructure and Architect teams to develop and enhance cloud-based solutions.
Manages and documents code reviews and establishes best practices to mitigate repeat issues.
Mentors junior-level developers and proactively reviews their code's quality, consistency, scalability, and future-proofing.
Develops documentation standards and performs peer reviews to ensure compliance.
Proactively resolves team challenges, manages dependencies across other project teams, and manages customer relationships to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Negotiates challenging decisions and forms a point of view based on personal expertise and architectural ecosystem.
Supervisory duties may be assigned to oversee junior-level and third-party coding quality.
