Responsibilities
Perform daily technical engineering, network analysis, and network infrastructure technical security review studies to ensure continued compliance with DoD mandates and redundant service capabilities are available in order to reduce single points of failure and communications faults.
Integrate new networking technologies, networking testing and asset dissemination, network performance analysis and system optimization, configure and implement routers and switches, and upgrades to existing communications capabilities.
Review weekly DISA Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts.
Create an implementation plan.
Schedule Authorized Service Interruption (ASI) for minimum customer disruption.
Deploy fixes and upgrades as required.
Troubleshoot network communication failures, isolation of faults, programming, reporting of system degradations or outages, providing detailed system analysis, trend and root cause analysis, providing Standard Operating Procedures and associated documentation.
Provide required support for Tier IV troubleshooting, integration, and monitoring of the network’s communications infrastructure.
Support the development of phased deployment plan with specialized expertise with networks and communications systems situated for DISA J6 HR.
Work 10 am - 6 pm Monday through Friday. This is a hybrid location between Norfolk and Suffolk.

Required
US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
ACTIVE US DOD SECRET CLEARANCE OR HIGHER REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or 8 years of equivalent experience/combined education, certification
8 Years of experience
Cisco CCNP and CompTIA Security +CE or ISC2 CISSP
Strong working knowledge of network operations including configuring routers and switches and encryption devices, routing protocols (OSPF and BGP), network management and monitoring software, layer II and III security features within a DOD environment
Strong troubleshooting, fault isolation, and analytical skills to resolve connectivity/equipment issues
Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends on an as-needed basis to facilitate software upgrades and equipment installations
