Responsibilities

Provides process design support for production areas.

Initiates suggestions for plant improvements with respect to process to improve safety, capacity, and/or cost.

Conducts engineering studies and evaluates new equipment.

Provides technical input for safety reviews and HAZOPs.

Provides technical input to equipment design and sizing.

Investigates and develops tests to optimize process conditions.

Provides technical support during outages and catalyst regeneration/changes.

Provides out-of-hours call-out coverage.

Required

Minimum 5 years process engineering experience

Basic Chemical Engineering knowledge

Ability to perform standard chemical engineering calculations, e.g., fluid flow, pressure drop in piping, relief valve, rupture disc sizing, distillation calculations, reaction calculations, material and energy balance calculations, physical property calculations, heat exchanger sizing calculations

Proficient in using spreadsheet software

Must be able to communicate effectively to all departments and all levels

General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-based software

Knowledge in Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) and Safeguarding

5-10 years of production experience
