Responsibilities

Perform engineering work including conducting or reviewing engineering design, planning, construction, inspection, and maintenance work.
Manage design and project management work at all stages of the project before construction, including feasibility, scoping, planning, and design.
Collaborate with multiple divisions within TPWD on projects such as water utilities, fish hatchery improvements, dams, bridges, trails, and more.

Required

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
Engineer I: Licensed Professional Engineer;
Engineer II: 2 years' experience as a licensed Professional Engineer;
Engineer III: 5 years' experience as a licensed Professional Engineer.
Must possess a current and active Engineer license as issued by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers;
Must possess a valid class "C" Texas driver's license.

Preferred

Experience with rural utility systems;
Experience with coordinating consultant engineers to execute work, and the review of that work;
Experience with Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) water and wastewater regulations;
Current holder of certification or working familiarity with a recognized sustainable building program, such as Leaders in Environment and Energy Design (LEED) as administered by the U.S. Green Building Council;
Experience in project scoping, scheduling and budgeting.
