Professional Engineer - Forensic Structural or Mechanical

Responsibilities
Conduct detailed forensic investigations of structural failures, collapses, and construction defects
Perform site inspections and gather relevant data to support forensic analysis
Utilize engineering principles and practices to analyze and assess structural issues
Prepare clear and concise technical reports outlining findings and conclusions that can stand up in a court of law
Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required
Stay current with industry trends, codes, and standards related to structural engineering

Required
Must be a licensed P.E. (or eligible by reciprocity) in the assigned state with an active NCEES record
2+ years’ of forensic engineering experience is strongly preferred, however we will consider highly qualified P.E.s with a desire to learn forensics
Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job, including working outside and sometimes in extreme weather conditions
You must be able to work in confined spaces, walk on roofs using appropriate safety equipment, carry ladders, and operate other equipment such as man lifts
The ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally as needed is a must, and sometimes on short notice
You should be able to work independently and also with a cross-functional team of other professionals
Solid project management skills with the ability to manage multiple case files
Strong technical writing skills and excellent verbal communication skills are required
You must be comfortable in face-to-face interactions with clients, with the ability to provide the utmost in customer service
Technical proficiency with basic office software
You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship or any restrictions
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is required
Preferred
A Master of Science Degree in Structural or Mechanical Engineering is highly desirable
Expert Witness experience is a huge plus
