Responsibilities
Work closely with senior leaders to understand business strategy and provide recommendations derived from advanced analytics
Develop end-to-end data solutions, including designing scientific frameworks and using machine learning techniques
Lead the design and implementation of generative AI projects and provide technical guidance to junior data scientists
Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in data science for the US small business insurance domain

Required
Bachelors Degree in a STEM or closely related field.
At least 5 years of relevant work experience in data science, advanced analytics, or a related area of expertise, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry
Ability to conduct high quality research in a suitably timely manner working both independently and in small teams as required by the task.
Familiarity with version control and other IT delivery tools is required
Experience in developing predictive and prescriptive analyses (predictive modeling, machine learning, or data mining) to draw key business insights and articulate findings clearly for the target audience.
Strong experience with analytical tools/programming languages and databases (e.g., Python, R, SQL), capable of bringing models to a production state consumable by non-technical users, producing APIs, and working to a high standard of code quality, including using version control and other operational tools.
Expertise in various data science methods and techniques, such as supervised and unsupervised learning, natural language processing, computer vision, deep learning, optimization, and simulation
Experience with prompt engineering as part of Gen AI initiatives.
Proven experience in building, training, and deploying machine learning models.
Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of various machine learning techniques, including simple linear models, random forests, and deep learning.
Experience in working with large and complex data sets, using cloud platforms, big data technologies, and data pipelines
A strong working understanding of statistical modeling is essential.
Strong collaboration, teamwork, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and agile teams as well as independently on analytics projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills and effective presentation and storytelling skills are essential, given the significant exposure to different internal stakeholders.
Passion for learning, innovation, and continuous improvement in data science
Preferred
A further degree is a plus.
Knowledge of insurance is an advantage but not essential.
