Responsibilities
Build applications following coding practices and industry standards
Develop high-quality, efficient code adhering to Prudential standards
Collaborate with product owners, tech leads, and team members to deliver robust solutions
Write unit, integration tests, and functional automation
Stay updated on relevant technologies and provide feedback to the team
Work on problems of diverse scope and use programming languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript
Communicate software development best practices and industry trends
Understand source control, CI/CD orchestration tools, and various DevOps domains
Possess strong verbal and documentation skills for effective communication
Collaborate within a scrum team and work independently
Apply knowledge of APIs, testing concepts, automated testing, software security, and DevOps tools & practices

Required
Bachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fields
2+ years of experience in software development or DevOps
Ability to communicate software development best practices and industry trends
Understanding of source control and git - branching schemes, merge types, conflict resolutions
Knowledge of CI/CD orchestration tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
Familiarity with various DevOps domains
Strong verbal communication skills to address both the development community and business leaders
Documentation skills to publish user guides, defects, feature requests, and architecture designs
Ability of collaboration to develop roles/responsibilities maps and process workflows
Excellent initiative, curiosity, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Ability to perform within a scrum team as well as working independently
Experience with the following knowledge/understanding
Application Programming Interfaces (API): Consumption & Development; implementing service-oriented architecture (SOA) patterns; Web service technologies such as APIs, REST, JSON, SOAP, XML, JDBC, MySQL
Unit, interface and end-user testing concepts and tooling (functional & non-functional)
Automated testing
Accessibility awareness
Software security skills including secure coding, web application security and DevSecOps; Solid grasp of security concepts (authentication, authorization, encryption, digital signature, JWT), SSL, web service proxies, firewall, SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0
Dev Ops Tools & Practices: Branching techniques and usage of GitHub, Bitbucket or Subversion; DevOps, Jenkins
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): Monitoring and logging techniques
AWS Core Services: AWS Services such as CloudWatch, Code-Deploy
Preferred
Familiarity in application development (Python, Java, Groovy, JavaScript, Go)
Familiarity in UX/UI or front-end web design
Familiarity in reporting and Business Intelligence tools
Familiarity in API development and microservice architecture
Familiarity with application security testing (SAST, DAST, SCA, xSPM)
