Responsibilities

Provide technical direction for team projects

Participate in code reviews

Carry out system testing and debug issues

Shape the future of CRM UI Framework architecture and internal backend developer experience

Work closely with frontend and backend teams on new framework features

Mentor junior engineers in areas such as architecture, design, coding, tooling, and infrastructure

Required

Strong systems designers, interested in writing in the Java ecosystem

Take ownership of the end-to-end solution, work collaboratively, and figure things out

Understand that their job is not about implementing pre-written requirements, but figuring out exactly what is required to add value to our customers and their businesses

Consistently work to deliver reliable, performant, well-tested code

Have a customer-centric attitude and develop an understanding of the HubSpot product

Backend development experience. We work with Java, MySQL, AWS, DropWizard, Kafka, and Kubernetes primarily, but experience with specific technologies is secondary to understanding programming fundamentals.

Experience leading the implementation of platforms, particularly transitioning from feature-based systems to generic extensible platforms

Experience designing and implementing APIs

Experience collaborating on customer-facing features

Thirst for technical problems with distributed systems at a massive scale

Understand the value of building a diverse team, and are upstanders for Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging initiatives
