Responsibilities

Maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls), electrical (lighting, primary switchgear), and hot water systems.

Responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions, analyzing the operation of various systems, determining the cause of any problems/malfunctions, and taking corrective action as required.

Comply with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

Oversee the activities of contractors working within the building, ensuring they are informed and knowledgeable about the building’s critical functions and the work they are to perform.

Keep records of building rounds and readings, all engineering logs, and engineering data sheets.

Understand and comply with emergency escalation procedures.
