Responsibilities

Implements and reviews guidelines (e.g., style guide, academic integrity, accessibility guide) written by others; understands and follows established processes and workflows.
Prioritizes tasks based on project goals and due dates; manages personal time to meet project delivery schedule; has strong attention to detail.
Prepares materials for freelancers or vendors; reviews work submitted by vendors.
Works independently as a member of a collaborative team; proactively looks for answers before asking more senior team members.
Identifies inconsistencies, errors, problems, or inefficiencies and brings ideas for solutions to broader project team.
Applies learned techniques and contributes to analysis and investigation to solve problems.
Open to receiving feedback and takes actions accordingly.
Proofreads, makes edits, and implements updates to existing content within systems.
Learning best practices in pedagogy
Builds and reviews correlations for existing material.
Uses reliable resources in producing quality work.
Advanced in writing and editorial procedures (e.g., grade appropriateness, Lexile, writing techniques, incorporating intended skill and content, visual design and flow of the page, widows, orphans, line length, fact check)
Adheres to style guide in writing and creating content.
Creates content using McGraw Hill’s collaborative review process to ensure writing is on target.
Writes specifications for art, technical art, maps, etc.; reviews submitted art.
Creates and reviews prototypes for common types of content.

Required

Bachelor’s degree required.
Must be organized, flexible, and able to work on multiple projects at once.
Experienced in K-12 education with an emphasis in history or other social studies content.

Preferred

Previous experience in education, editorial, or curriculum development is a plus.
