Responsibilities
Serve as lead data scientist and drive data science and AI initiatives.
Collaborate with teams to design and develop statistical and mathematical models.
Research new modeling techniques and stay current with industry trends.
Develop and optimize classifiers using machine learning methods.
Cleanse and verify data integrity for analytics and predictions.
Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and create automated anomaly detection systems.
Collaborate with internal teams to leverage data for business needs.

Required
Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
Advanced coursework in machine learning and programming.
Experience using data visualization tools.
Experience with data querying languages, and statistical or mathematical software.
Proficient in writing algorithms, and knowing when to apply them.
Excellent understanding of statistics, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra.
Good scripting and programming skills using Python
Outstanding communication skills.
Create algorithms and data models to forecast outcomes
Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in applied mathematic or statistic, preferably in the energy industry with a graduate degree or PhD in Computer Science, data system or data mining, power systems or another similar field.
Preferred
Experience in the energy sector and/or supporting the implementation of programs funded by California state agencies (e.g., California Public Utilities Commission, California Energy Commission, California Air Resources Board).
Ability to strongly represent the organization in various professional engagement settings from local to national convenings (conferences, workshops, executive meetings, etc.).
Experience with Microsoft suite of software – Email Exchange Server, 365, Teams, SharePoint.
Experience with AWS, Azure and Google Cloud services.
Experience with networking, firewall and VoIP.
Experience with agile methodologies.
