Responsibilities
Research and develop the use of new or improved raw materials.
Oversee and manage the implementation of new or improved raw materials.
Research and identify new or alternative suppliers of raw materials.
Develop acceptance criteria and testing methods for incoming raw materials.
Define standards and process for the mixing of raw materials.
Establish safety protocols for the use of dangerous materials.
Evaluate materials to ensure compliance with applicable environmental and safety standards.
Collaborate with Process Engineering on the use of raw materials in new or improved processes.
Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineering on material declarations and safety data sheets.
Collaborate with Applications Engineering and customers on new product introductions.
Develop and execute process validations using IQ, OQ, & PQ methods.

Required
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or related technical field is required.
Minimum of two years experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Materials science experience is required.
Experience working in an ISO certified environment is required; ISO 13485 or 10993 is preferred.
Preferred
Polymer chemistry experience is desired.
Medical device component and/or finished product manufacturing experience is desired.
Catheter-based medical device design and manufacturing experience is desired.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.
Must be able to display fine manipulation by constantly using both hands and fingers to inspect, grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
Must be able to operate a computer 50% of the time or more.
Must be able to frequently move about inside the manufacturing environment and access machinery.
