Responsibilities
Client is seeking a UI/UX Designer who will work on innovative projects promoting programs, services, initiatives, and information.
Play a critical role in developing, maintaining, and enhancing the new design system to ensure consistency and a high standard of user experience across all digital platforms.
Blend creativity, strategic thinking, and strong technical skills to deliver user-centered designs focusing on accessibility standards, best practices, and user research.
Work within the Creative Team and collaborate with the Web Team to achieve design goals.
Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive design system with reusable components, patterns, and guidelines.
Design high-fidelity UI components and patterns that are visually appealing, accessible, and user-friendly.
Maintain style and branding guidelines for visual and functional consistency.
Communicate branding standards effectively to internal teams and external partners.
Advocate for user-centric design principles and best practices within the organization.
Lead design workshops, brainstorming sessions, and ensure designs comply with accessibility standards.
Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and provide detailed specifications and assets for development teams.

Required
Bachelor's Degree in UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or related field
2 to 5 years of experience in UX/UI Design with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in design systems and accessibility
Experience with common user research methodologies
Proficiency in design tools (such as Figma or Adobe Creative Suite), accessibility tools (WAVE, ANDI)
Familiarity with front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design
Understanding of WordPress editor environments
Ability to thrive in a remote setting and utilize collaboration tools such as Slack, Teams, and Wrike
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in an agile time-sensitive environment
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
Knowledge of accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 AA and higher as well as best practices
Preferred
Proven experience working on digital projects in the government or public sector
