Responsibilities

Reports to Director of Information Security.
Manages through a matrix organization and will have authority over resources assigned to their projects.
Takes a loosely defined project and turns it into something clearer through the project initiation process and working with the sponsor and key stakeholders to come up with shared goals and objectives and a workable project plan.
Executes all five project management processes as defined by PMI: initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
Sets up meetings with project team members and stakeholders to get the work done.
Provides status reports to the sponsor and team members and stakeholders so that everyone stays informed about the status, next tasks, issues to be resolved, etc.
Manages 8-10 high visibility projects at a time.
Solves problems and removes barriers from their projects and team members so they can stay on schedule.
May help the project sponsor define a budget and track expenses against that budget on some projects.
Collaborates with IT department managers for project team resources and priorities.
Negotiates with project sponsor and project team members when developing the project schedule and holds the project team accountable to those plans.

Required

5-10 years of experience managing technical and infrastructure projects, e.g., migrating from one help desk system to Jira or coordinating technical projects relating to an acquisition.
Must be organized and able to comprehend and manage lots of details.
Strong leadership skills, e.g., confidence in taking an assigned project and creating a plan and the team to get it done.
Excellent communication skills, both formal and informal.
Advanced understanding of the project management concepts like the PM triangle (scope, cost, schedule), critical paths, estimate to completion, estimate at completion, etc.
Experience with Jira Software, Microsoft Teams or similar work collaboration systems.
Some knowledge of Microsoft networks, data center operations, servers, VPN, etc.; without some knowledge the conversations with the stakeholders are going to be strained and this person will not have credibility.
High emotional intelligence (EQ) so they can read people’s reactions to things and respond in a positive, constructive way.
Someone who is pragmatic in their approach; they tend to get their projects done with high success and predictability.
Someone who can hold team members accountable for getting their project work done.
Someone who can keep all the project team stakeholders informed and engaged.
100% remote but must live in the US and be a US citizen

Preferred

College degree preferred
PMP preferred.
Experience with security frameworks is preferred, especially ISO-27001.
Experience with enterprise IT procurement preferred.
Experience working for a software company would be bonus, and even K-12 EdTech a super bonus.
