Responsibilities

Lead the team in all areas of software delivery including definition, design, development, customer onboarding, and operations.

Grow the team through hiring, performance management, and related activities.

Collaborate with architects, domain experts, product managers, program managers, and engineers to enhance functionality, operational improvements, and day-to-day operations of core services.

Apply knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging, or designing software applications, operating systems, and databases according to provided design specifications.

Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Required

MS or BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience running Software Engineering teams, including managing managers

10+ years of software engineering experience

Strong communication skills, analytical skills, and project management skills

Experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed services

Microservice design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols along with developing highly reliable services

Experience in hiring & promoting engineers, defining KPIs and performing performance appraisals

Solid experience with SDLC processes in an agile SW development environment, plus understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking and distributed systems fundamentals

Strong understanding of databases, distributed data storage and distribution technologies

Preferred

Understanding of service metrics and alarms through the development of dashboards, service critical metrics, alarming systems

Experience working in an operational environment with mission-critical tier-0 services with associated on-call

Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure a strong plus

Domain expertise in one of the following areas – security, cryptography, certificates management
