Responsibilities

Lead the software engineering division applying software architecture knowledge to manage software development tasks.

Manage the development, debugging, and design of software applications, operating systems, and databases.

Lead the team in building enhancements within existing software architecture and suggesting improvements.

Interact with other functional peer group managers and senior management on team status and technical roadmap.

Design and deliver new language, tooling, and low-level library features.

Provide leadership on technical roadmap and drive bug resolutions.

Deliver internal and external presentations to senior management and evangelize the Java Language and Tooling platform.

Minimum 10 years experience leading a technical team and 15+ years in the programming platform and/or software tooling industry required.

Knowledge of modern language and tooling technologies, experience in Java language/platform, and hands-on system software development experience highly desirable.

Experience in open-source projects, especially OpenJDK, and cooperative experience with cross-functional teams necessary.

Expertise in clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication.

Required
