Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of BioMADE projects selected to advance safety, security, sustainability, and social responsibility in bio-industrial manufacturing. Monitor technical progress, deliverables, and milestones, and provide project related financial and intellectual property reporting.
Utilize subject-matter expertise to guide and support project teams on submission quality and compliance with BioMADE procedural requirements.
Integrate elements of the BioMADE 4S vision and other BioMADE programmatic areas as applicable into 4S project calls.
Conduct regular status meetings with project teams. Review and approve monthly and quarterly technical reports to ensure risks to the project are mitigated and projects are progressing.
Review and approve final technical reports and post-award impact reports to identify project achievements to be shared publicly.
Collaborate with the BioMADE Communications Team to ensure publications, presentations, inventions, and other forms of intellectual property resulting from projects are being appropriately shared with BioMADE membership and external stakeholders, in accordance with BioMADE confidentiality provisions.
Communicate project status updates, in coordination with Director and the BioMADE Leadership Team to ensure the successful execution of the projects.
Prepare reports and associated documents for BioMADE leadership, committees, and DoD, to communicate status of the projects.
Review and approve project invoices to ensure scope of work and deliverables are met. Ensure administrative and financial oversight of the projects are aligned with the technical progress.
Conduct site visits to meet with members regarding their projects.
Present on BioMADE and programmatic success to various stakeholders including the broader social sciences, safety, and/or security community and the public through conferences and other open venues.
Assist in establishing and maintaining BioMADE 4S principles interacting with individuals, members, and teams across BioMADE to ensure a consistent 4S approach to every program endeavor.
As needed, support the Program Director and the BioMADE 4S Committee through an active role in creating relevant policies and procedures, and assisting with planning and executing committee meetings

Required

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as engineering, biology, chemistry, or a related discipline
5+ years of experience in program management or project management
Experience in safety, security, sustainability, and/or social responsibility in a professional setting
Experience managing projects related to bio-industrial manufacturing
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders including internal teams, government leadership, and external partners
Experience in financial oversight of projects
Ability to travel for site visits and conferences as needed
Authorization to access hardware, commodities, and technical information subject to export regulations

Preferred

Master's degree in a relevant field
Experience working in a public-private partnership environment
Experience in bioindustrial manufacturing
Experience with intellectual property management
Experience in reviewing and approving project invoices
Certification in project management
