Responsibilities
Lead a team in the CMD DevSecOps organization developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Kubernetes-based software that accelerates science. The team will provide our global customers and internal teams with the software-defined infrastructure for customer private Clouds, internal R&D environments, and public Cloud SaaS offerings.
Serve as a key member of our extended software team building strong relationships with multi-functional teams and scientific platform partners while educating the organization about DevSecOps processes.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent engineering degree
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) and/or AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate or Professional preferred
10+ years combined experience in software engineering as a Software Engineering Manager, Architect, or Lead Engineer; 2+ years as a manager preferred
Experience authoring IaC with Pulumi or Crossplane for Kubernetes-based applications
Record of independent team leadership continuously improving products and services
Software engineering leadership, especially staffing and growing teams
Software development experience with innovative practices
Deep understanding of Kubernetes concepts including cluster architecture, scheduling, networking, storage, and security
Understanding of GitOps practices, and use of Argo CD, Flux CD, or similar tool
Strong practical administration skills in the AWS Cloud
Golang programming either self-taught or on the job
Track record of implementing observability tooling such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, or Service Meshes
Familiarity with authoring Helm charts
Understanding principles of web application security
