Responsibilities
Implement the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) processes for new and existing information systems
Facilitate development of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU), Interconnection Security Agreements (ISA), Risk Acceptance Letters (RAL) and support Continuous Monitoring (CONMON)
Develop Security and Privacy Controls for Information Systems and Organizations under NIST SP 800-53 via a System Security Plan and associated artifacts
Coordinate with system administrators and engineering in the development and management of POAMS and RBDs
Assess and test/analyze data to document state of compliance with security requirements
Conduct risk assessments and investigations, identify and perform appropriate risk mitigations, and oversee incident response activities
Conduct regular hardware/software inventory assessments
Act as advisor to stakeholders regarding assessment and authorization risk mitigation recommendations
Develop and conduct decision briefings to senior NASA officials.
Develops technical security solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, advanced analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
Develops solutions to technical security problems and issues that may be unclear but require technical security compliance knowledge.
Communicates with internal and client project team members.
Requires understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical security domains and has advanced understanding of other related IT security areas.

Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering or related field with 6 years of experience working in information systems security operations
Ability to obtain a NASA Public Trust clearance
Proven experience developing, operating and maintaining security for information systems
Extensive knowledge of operating system and database security
Proficiency in networking technologies, network security and network monitoring solutions
Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus applications, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systems
In-depth knowledge of security protocols and principles
Critical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems
Preferred
10+ years of cybersecurity operations experience with an advanced understanding of information systems security operations
Advanced understanding of ITSM processes and experience with agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe using technologies like Jira or ServiceNow
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
