Responsibilities

Provide strategy and oversee management and implementation of marketing activities to ensure that goals are accomplished and deadlines are met
Manage quality control for all marketing deliverables
Influence strategic planning in collaboration with firm leadership and business development team
Collaborate with leadership team to develop and drive strategic initiatives forward
Establish marketing policies and procedures
Direct selection and implementation of marketing vendors and consultants, such as advertising, public relations, or graphic design firms
Conduct marketing-related workshops/training for principals and technical staff
Mentor, train, and develop marketing staff
Represent the firm to clients, peer organizations, and business associates
Manage and attend trade show and special event planning, execution, and follow-up, including prioritizing industry events based on strategic goals
Leverage and maintain strong professional network
Participate actively and consistently in professional and client organizations, such SMPS, ACEC, SAME, NAIOP, CIANJ, and/or others
Develop and oversee execution of pursuit planning activities, especially for significant or strategic efforts
Oversee go/no-go process for proposal pursuits
Work with technical and marketing staff to develop complex proposals for government, public, and commercial clients
Conduct proposal debriefing internally and with prospective clients
Manage development and ongoing implementation and education of corporate brand
Direct development of initiatives and thought leadership content for collateral materials, website, blogs, media, print, video, etc. based on strategies outlined in marketing plan
Interview technical team for project content and stories
Maintain internal communications program to facilitate information sharing within the firm; inform and involve principals and technical staff regarding marketing efforts
Oversee digital media and social media initiatives, including blogs, video, virtual site tours, and podcasts
Monitor legislative and/or regulatory activities that could affect the need for services
Analyze research data related to clients; competitors; and past, current, and prospective markets, and present findings to leadership
Leverage and maintain a network of corporate, industry, government, municipal, and community contacts to keep abreast of industry, client, and competitor activity
This position is primarily hybrid requiring three days per week in First Environment's Butler, NJ office
Marketing-related travel will be required for business development activities and participation in national, regional, and local industry conferences and events
The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands

Required

Mastery of the six SMPS Domains of Practice preferred
Monitor and understand trends in marketing theory and practice
Ability to foresee trends in B2B and B2C marketing theory and practice
Strong understanding of engineering and/or environmental consulting terminology and delivery methods
Excellent leadership/managerial and mentoring/teaching skills
Expert time-management and organizational skills
Professional demeanor that enables the person to interact with the highest levels both inside and outside the firm
Able to foster and inspire exceptional teams
Able to see the big picture and delegate to achieve objectives
Committed to excellence
Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of marketing experience in environmental/engineering professional services industry recommended
Without a degree, 10+ years of relevant engineering and environmental consulting industry experience required
