Responsibilities

Complete design drawings, calculations, and specifications with design and drafting software.

Prepare civil engineering designs for new construction and investigate existing conditions for necessary repairs and modifications.

Provide civil engineering support to construction projects including submittal review, responding to RFIs, quality assurance visits, inspections, commissioning, and project closeout.

Ensure civil aspects of projects are constructed according to contract plans and specifications.

Meet with personnel to gather information for preparing statements of work to procure A/E services.

Manage projects to ensure successful project management techniques are applied, and prepare written reports for status updates.

Create written documents such as specifications, test requirement documents, independent government cost estimates, and drawings for civil engineering projects.

Perform quality assurance review of drawings, specifications, calculations, cost estimates, and studies prepared by A/E design firms.

Required

Degree in Engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET or combination of education and experience

Professional Engineer (PE) registration in any state, District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico

At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector

Must be a US Citizen

Must be determined suitable for federal employment

Must participate in the direct deposit pay program

Successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check

Obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty

Completion of ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment

Completion of training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases

Wear personal protective equipment while conducting site visits
