Responsibilities

Provide technical advice and guidance to client representatives regarding solutions to interior design problems.
Develop and formulate the total interior design concept for projects.
Prepare presentation materials, including color and material boards.
Review Interior Design packages prepared by other in-house designers and private architect-engineer design firms.
Conduct field trips to project site during scoping, design, construction, and product installation.

This is a bargaining unit position.
You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Assists with developing and formulating the total interior design concept for projects from the initial architectural start to completion of color design specification; 2) Assists with formulating generic furniture requirements based on 35% design stage collateral equipment lists and activity interviews; 3) Assists with developing schematic furniture layouts for review by project architect and activity in order to determine practical requirements and limitations of the project; and 4) assisting the project manager and client with developing collateral equipment lists including costs.

Preferred

Having a degree with Major study -- interior design or other field that included or was supplemented by at least 30 semester hours in interior design, interior architecture, or interior environmental design; and passage of the National Council for Interior Design Qualification (NCIDQ) examination is highly desired.
Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee.
This position is eligible for part-time, full-time, or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
