Responsibilities

Design System Development: Collaborate for the creation, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive design system including reusable components, patterns, and guidelines.
UX Design: Design high-fidelity UI components and UI patterns that are visually appealing, accessible, and user-friendly.
Collaboration And Communication: Work closely with the Design Lead, UX researchers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and user needs.
Accessibility And Inclusivity: Ensure all designs comply with accessibility standards and promote inclusivity.
Quality Assurance And Handoff: Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and provide detailed design specifications and guidelines.

Required

Bachelor's Degree in UX/UI Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or related field
2 to 5 years of experience in UX/UI Design with a strong portfolio in design systems and accessibility
Proficiency in design tools (such as Figma or Adobe Creative Suite) and accessibility tools (WAVE, ANDI)
Familiarity with front-end development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design
Understanding of WordPress editor environments
Ability to thrive in a remote setting and utilize collaboration tools such as Slack, Teams, and Wrike
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in an agile time-sensitive environment
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
Knowledge of accessibility standards WCAG 2.1 AA and higher as well as best practices

Preferred

Experience working on digital projects in the government or public sector
Experience with common user research methodologies
Proven experience working on digital projects in the government or public sector
