Responsibilities
Assist with a range of studies and consulting services to support power delivery utilities
Perform transmission planning studies including transient stability, power flow, reliability, and economic dispatch
Engage with various industry entities and manage technical project execution
Direct portions of project execution, develop staffing plans, and ensure quality management
Assist in business development pursuits and training efforts for team members

Required
Bachelor of Science in an engineering field or related degree from an accredited program.
7+ years of experience, or Master's in Engineering with 2 years, of related experience associated with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting, or a PhD in Engineering with 1 year of related experience.
Understanding of transmission system planning processes and electric transmission systems
Familiarity with power system planning and operations; transient stability, short circuit, and voltage analysis; NERC, FERC, and regional requirements, policies, and procedures; production costing; risk assessment techniques; TPL compliance; generator interconnection; and harmonics analysis.
Developed expertise to independently perform a transmission system planning study.
Experience developing study reports to document study assumptions and findings
Knowledge of NERC and FERC standards
Knowledge of power regions of the country and independent system operators such as: MISO, ERCOT, PJM, SPP, CAISO, WECC, SERC, NYISO, NEISO
Demonstrated ability to provide independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard engineering techniques for electric transmission system planning procedures and criteria.
Strong organization, attention to detail, team building, collaboration, organization, and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking and leadership skills.
Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of engineers and analysts in regards to renewable generation studies and design efforts.
Ability to work independently to solve difficult problems requiring modification and adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Excellent written and oral communications skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met
Ability to focus on priorities to effectively and efficiently provide services that meet client needs, while also having the ability to identify and analyze details that are critical to project outcomes
Capacity to perform under pressure and narrow deadlines
Enthusiasm to learn new services to support client needs and the market.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred
Software: Strong competency in industry software including PSS/E. Additional competency in TARA, Aspen, EasyPower, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, and PROMOD a plus.
