Senior Radar Processing Engineer for Electronic Warfare Applications

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Senior Radar Processing Engineer to join their Applied Electromagnetics Division in Dayton, OH. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing advanced radar processing algorithms for electronic warfare applications, while also contributing to business development activities.

Responsibilities

Support business development activities including but not limited to developing or providing inputs for responses to RFPs, RFIs, etc
Implement or enhance radar signal process software algorithms including but not limited to synthetic aperture radar (SAR), optimal waveform design, MIMO signal design and analysis, EM spectrum (EMS) management, Electronic Warfare techniques (jamming, LPI/LPD, Camouflage, Concealment & Deception)
Create compressed RCS return representations for real-time processing, using scattering center approaches or other state-of-the-art methods
Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to advance automatic target recognition (ATR) algorithms

Required

Ability to obtain a security clearance
Any of the following: Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 7+ years of experience, Master's with 5+ years of experience, PhD with some experience
5+ years' experience with Radar Signal Processing or Electronic Warfare applications
Expertise in synthetic aperture radar (SAR), automatic target recognition (ATR), and/or related fields

Preferred

Active (or prior) security clearance of Secret or higher (TS//SCI preferred)
An advanced degree in engineering, computer science, physics, or related discipline
Experience with radar range measurements, calibration, and signal processing
Experience with open system architectures (SOSA, Big Iron, etc.)
Experience programming field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) for real-time processing
Experience with software-based EW wargaming M&S (AFSIM, etc.)
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) testing for EW applications
