Responsibilities

Execution and governance: Independently determine and collect data required to execute and govern projects effectively. Define program governance structure and lead project team meetings.

Communications management: Design and deliver project communication plans, represent the project team across various touchpoints.

Technical judgment: Assess technical escalations, triage technical issues, and resolve issues related to data science and data engineering execution.

Continuous improvement: Drive continuous improvement metrics, establish regular checkpoints, and provide transparency into program pivots.

Ad-hoc strategic support requests (business analysis): Drive responses to ad-hoc data requests, provide technical support, and recommend data-oriented analyses.

Required

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

5 years of experience in project / program management on technical cross-functional projects, including planning, execution, estimation, risk management and stakeholder management.

Experience managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering and / or data science teams.

Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, frequently interacting with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience with data analysis and extraction using SQL or BigQuery.

Knowledge of client Ads products, sales teams and/or service teams.

Ability to organize and manage the activities that lead to the outcomes of a project: what, who, when, and how.

Adjust 'levers' (e.g., schedule, staffing, features) to deliver results on time.

Effectively monitor and communicate progress, risks, and mitigations.

Ability to listen effectively to stakeholders, to communicate program goals, progress, and health to them in a manner tailored to their interests and concerns at all levels, and to drive understanding and inform decisions.

The ability to assess data science / data engineering problems, understand the interplay between project and technical issues, and contribute to shaping technical directions.

Ability to establish systems to identify improvements and drive future needs around business processes, products, or services on an ongoing basis, through measurement of performance, progress, and success metrics.

Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate outcomes.

This includes the ability to use data to add value to business planning and strategies.

Proactively identify impactful business opportunities and/or gaps in systems and workflows.

Develop a plan of action and influence / drive team for large business outcomes.
