Responsibilities
Manage a large-scale federal government client’s social media presence, as part of a team, and identify and implement creative ways to connect with and engage audiences.
Develop and implement comprehensive social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement and drive social media platform growth
Research, craft, edit, and publish high-quality and engaging social media copy and content across platforms featuring announcements, reports, publications, press releases, website content, job postings, and press events; at times on complex and controversial subjects
Collaborate with teams to ensure consistency in messaging and brand voice across platforms
Plan, organize, and schedule social media content; organize and update digital media content calendar, event calendar, and social media scheduling calendar; ensure strategies are aligned with overall priorities
Monitor social media channels to trends, insights, and conversations relevant to the client
Track, analyze, and report data and performance using relevant metrics and tools; draw actionable insights to grow social platforms and increase audience engagement
Drive innovation and growth by experimenting with new strategies, content formats, and platforms

Required
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Five years of experience as a social media strategist
Five years proficiency in a variety of social media management tools and analytic platforms
Able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance (federal government background check)
Strong understanding of social media platforms, their audiences, and best practices
Superior storytelling experience
Ability to coordinate storytelling across social media platforms
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, emerging platforms, and changes in algorithms
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency in the following Microsoft Office applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred
Experience supporting a government or federal agency
