Responsibilities
Assess geotechnical and structural engineering reports to prepare preliminary foundation designs
Prepare a Bill of Materials (BOM) for the required foundation products in solar plants
Manage foundation design and BOM changes during the construction phase
Coordinate with third-party engineering service providers for foundation design services
Prepare grading analysis services
Collaborate with other engineering managers to ensure technical services leadership
Prioritize work direction based on business priorities
Develop technical knowledge of Array's product offerings in geotechnical engineering
Prepare grading analysis estimates and coordinate with Civil EOR on grading requirements
Manage relationships with engineering firms in regions of operation
Deliver technical presentations on geotechnical engineering topics
Establish standardized geotechnical design criteria for Array's tracker system
Build technical relationships with customer engineering leadership
Review and approve technical project requirements related to geotechnical engineering
Address escalated issues within the Applications Engineering Group
Lead development and evaluation of tools and software applications
Participate in standards organizations to influence geotechnical engineering sectors
Advance geotechnical engineering and foundation design concepts
Travel within the US and internationally as needed
Perform other assigned duties

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical concentration
10+ years of experience in a Civil or Geotechnical Engineering role
5+ years of experience in design of driven pile foundations
Proficiency in geotechnical analysis applications, preferably LPILE
Proficiency in grading analysis with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Proficiency interpreting geotechnical data and applying to utility solar applications
Expertise in applying local US building codes to optimize foundation designs for utility solar
Preferred
Master’s Geotechnical Engineering degree
Experience managing a team of engineers, preference on managing a remote team
Expertise in applying international building codes to optimize foundation designs for utility solar
Recognition as an industry thought leader
Ability to work across multiple organizations in a fast-paced, smaller company environment
