Responsibilities

Support the development and evolution of the Automation Platform.

Understand, leverage, and apply engineering best practices effectively. Lead by example and improve coding standards and best practices.

Build robust, highly available, performant, scalable, and reliable services.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, and program/product management on building optimized and forward-looking tools.

Deliver quality features on-time and on-budget.

Anticipate system/application challenges and propose solutions.

Contribute innovative & new ideas to the product/program Roadmap.

Mentor junior and senior resources.

Drive end-to-end design, implementation, and delivery of engineering components.

Manage the day-to-day development activities, participate in designs, design reviews, code reviews, and implementation.

Adjust positively to quickly changing priorities and shifting goals.

Drive continuous improvement of code quality and development practices. Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, etc.

Required

10+ years of professional experience in software development.

Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills.

Proven high level of expertise in any or all of the programming languages Python, Java, SQL and related technology stacks.

Deep proficiency in engineering best practices for the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

Proven ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launch of the project.

Proven ability to work across the organization to align multiple stakeholders

Experience with cloud computing fundamentals and building applications using cloud managed services.

Willingness to adapt to and self learn new technologies and deliver on them.

Technical depth and vision to perform POC’s and evaluate different technologies.

Preferred

Knowledge & experience in data streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka.

Knowledge & experience of containerization technologies such as Docker/Kubernetes.

Prior experience building distributed cloud services.

Prior experience building/working with automation platforms/frameworks.

Proven proficiency in API development (REST).

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment.
