Responsibilities
Enable engineers to ship secure code by building a robust stack of security tools and integrating it into the CI/CD pipeline.
Identify and implement security improvements in Wisp’s technology stack, prioritize and drive key vulnerability remediation, and collaborate closely with engineering and site reliability teams.
Use automated techniques and instrumentation to minimize the risk of introducing security issues and establish incident response procedures to efficiently mitigate security incidents.
Collaborate cross-functionally across the business to help define and implement the organization’s roadmap for security and educate the team on security best practices.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards and regulations governing the protection of sensitive healthcare data and collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements.
Champion security through code quality, new technologies, and architectural design.

Required
5+ years of experience in highly compliant environments
Strong understanding of common Application Security concerns and their remediations (OWASP, NIST)
Highly knowledgeable about networking protocols, encryption algorithms, and secure coding practices
Proven hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Empathetic, constructive, pragmatic, and business-oriented approach to security
Belief in the power of a secure-by-default platform for application development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Experience with incident response procedures and security incident mitigation
Experience ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards and data privacy laws
Preferred
Experience with automated techniques and instrumentation to minimize security risks
Experience in educating teams on security best practices
Experience with legal and compliance teams to address regulatory requirements
