Responsibilities

Assist in the analyzing, planning and implementation of systems related projects e.g. maintenance of process set-up, criteria tables, system security maintenance; recommend technology and implementation adjustments for reporting needs and resources.
Create, generate and test PeopleSoft queries and reports; work with IT to resolve errors; test/implement new systems/releases; develop multiple PeopleSoft production schedules to ensure timely financial aid delivery to students.
Collection of financial aid data for surveys and reporting purposes and to assist in the development of technology plans, strategies, etc.; create, review and distribute business reports to areas.
Update/establish policies, procedures, training manual(s); stay updated on the regulatory releases, patches, fixes, testing, and refinement of the PeopleSoft Financial Aid module.
Develop appropriate test cases to perform validation testing on all required National University modifications, customizations, fixes, interfaces, and patches. Conduct testing for quality assurance purposes.
Assists in the identification of Peoplesoft database issues and the implementation of a resolution; interacts with various members of campus including Enrollment Management, Registrar Office, Student Accounts, Student Finance, and Information Technology in the resolution of system issues.
Responsible for researching Financial Aid regulations and develop business solutions and as needed, document policy and procedures.
Responsible for electronic form solutions to suit business needs within the department.
Keeps current and competent on National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), Common Origination Disbursement (COD), Direct Loan servicing, Information for Financial Aid Professionals (IFAP), e-campus based Fiscal Operations Report and Applications to Participate (FISAP), Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other electronic resources provided by state and federal levels.
Required to attend conferences and training seminars to stay informed and up-to-date with enterprise system (SOAR) updates.
Other duties as assigned.

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
1 to 3 years of experience in PeopleSoft Student Administration Student Financial Aid system programming and administration
5 years of experience in planning and applying information technology to one or more business functions
Experience in writing SQL
Mastery experience in Excel, Word, Access
Thorough understanding of financial aid or student accounts computer systems such as PeopleSoft, National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), Common Origination & Disbursement (COD), CSAC web-based systems or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software
An understanding of Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse methodologies
Excellent communication, organizational and judgement skills
Flexibility for additional hours when required
Strong working knowledge with Financial Aid disbursing and awarding, Federal and State aid regulations including conducting audits and reconciliations
Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a team
Ability to collaborate in decision making
Accepts personal accountability and supports honesty and respect towards others
