Responsibilities
Function as an “internal consultant” for key departments, translating business needs into insights
Assist in the design, execution, and post-hoc analysis of A/B / hypothesis testing
Collect and analyze marketing data, reporting return and providing recommendations for optimizations
Develop machine learning models and algorithms for internal and customer facing use cases
Evaluate, tune, and iterate models until desired effectiveness is achieved (targeted precision, F1, type-II error rates, etc.)
Monitor and maintain ML systems, addressing any issues to ensure they deliver consistent, reliable performance
Assist in the design and implementation of core departmental KPIs
Identify root causes of changes in metrics in an ongoing and / or ad hoc fashion
Maintain and update our data model in Looker along with our other data team members
Stay up-to-date with ML technologies and methodologies advancements, incorporating best practices into our projects

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related technical field
One to three years’ proven experience as an effective Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, or similar technical role
Demonstrable working experience in working with large datasets, including joining, clearing, transforming, and aggregating data
Experience utilizing BI reporting tools beyond spreadsheets (e.g. Looker, PowerBI, Tableau)
Solid database experience (advanced SQL skills a must)
Strong programming skills (strong Python skills required)
In-depth knowledge of machine learning model development lifecycles
Experience with ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, Huggingface, Transformers, etc.)
Experience with Linux servers, command line tools, BASH
Experience with software engineering tools and best practices (version control, writing extensible code, contributing to and maintaining a shared codebase, etc.)
Working experience with cloud computing platforms and services (AWS preferred)
Working experience applying statistical models and frameworks
Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Desire to work in a fast-paced and results-driven environment where personal contribution is recognized and immediately translates into real business impact
Preferred
Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related technical field
Working experience with recommender systems, ensemble methods, LLMs, and/or RAG based systems
Working experience with specific AWS services (Sagemaker, Redshift, Redshift Spectrum, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch)
Experience with A/B testing, digital marketing optimization, or payment reconciliation
Strong statistical background (Frequentist vs. Bayesian, etc.)
