Responsibilities

Providing technical assistance to small, underserved water and wastewater utilities for sustainable infrastructure systems

Assessing and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies

Evaluating design, costs, and environmental impacts of infrastructure projects

Working on reducing human health and environmental impacts of emerging contaminants

Leading and mentoring a team of junior and mid-level engineers

Required

A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

An active Professional Engineer’s (PE) license in at least one U.S. state, preferably multiple states

20 or more years of experience with water or wastewater system design, planning, or evaluation

A willingness to travel to assess community infrastructure needs

Ability to independently assess community infrastructure needs and develop Preliminary Engineering Reports; serve as a technical expert on water and wastewater infrastructure projects; move projects forward from conceptualization to implementation; develop clear, well-documented written products; complete multiple, concurrent projects, and lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts, engineers, scientists, and outreach and communications specialists
