Responsibilities

Work directly with the customer to understand the business requirements for information needs.

Select the most appropriate visualization tool and delivery mechanism for requests.

Design, develop, document, and distribute selected visualizations within the guidelines of the WellStar data management framework.

Serve as a mentor and resource to BI Specialists and provide audits and feedback on their development work.

Deliver end user training on the use of tools and interpretation of visualizations.

Regularly formulate and present operational and strategic recommendations based on data analysis.

Analyze patient populations to identify trends, disease prevalence, and utilization drivers.

Act as a liaison with customers to communicate data structure needs for appropriate data model build.

Identify and address data quality issues impacting analyses.

Apply statistical and mathematical principles to all analyses.

Maintain understanding of relational databases and technology tools used for data presentation.

Serve as a training and informational resource for BI Specialists and others within the organization.

Participate in process improvement efforts and cross-functional teams.

Communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and staff within the organization.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required

BS/BA in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or similar technical degree, BS/BA in another field with significant work experience in data analytics and visualization

Minimum 3 years working directly with customers from requirements gathering, functional design, development, and delivery of interactive data visualization

Minimum 3 years working with complex data sets in a relational database environment with tools such as SQL Server, MS Access, SAS, MS Excel, and other 3rd party visualization tools

Strong background in designing and building publication-ready interactive and self-guided data visualizations using diverse sets of structured and unstructured data

Strong aptitude toward understanding technology concepts and techniques and learning to use new data management and presentation toolsets

At least intermediate skills working with relational database structures and concepts

Familiarity with common statistically appropriate means of data and process analysis

Personal desire for continuous knowledge and skill growth and development

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail and accuracy and a sense of personal accountability

Self-motivated and well organized with strong time management skills

Ability to work independently or in a team environment

Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of the organization

Working knowledge of continuous quality improvement, performance improvement, lean six sigma, and Agile principles
