Responsibilities

Participate in strategic planning to align technology with business goals, contributing to the long-term vision and strategy of the company.

Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Lead the development, and deployment of scalable and efficient web applications, covering both frontend and backend components.

Execute, lead, and grow a team of software engineers and data scientists in a remote environment, including providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and user-friendly web applications.

Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality software solutions, incorporating feedback into the development process in collaboration with product owners.

Architect and implement backend systems using Node, MongoDb, and AWS services, ensuring scalability and reliability.

Collaborate with frontend engineers to build responsive and intuitive user interfaces using modern frameworks such as Vue.js, Vuex, and Vue Router.

Optimize application performance for scalability and reliability, troubleshoot and debug issues, and ensure timely delivery of projects.

Maintain, and update existing DevOps environment and processes including; code reviews, CI/CD, unit testing, code documentation and mentoring developers.

Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, frameworks, and best practices in full stack development.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to integrate new practices, tools, and advancements related to AI into workflows and products.

Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues and implement robust debugging and testing processes.

Implement and enforce security best practices, ensuring that software meets security compliance standards.

Required

8+ years of pure magic in full-stack development (both frontend and backend technologies)

Magical leadership and team development and management abilities with proven experience in a data analytics or tech-focused organization, preferably expertise working in a startup

Proven track record of successful delivery of complex web projects from concept to deployment

Ability to work in an agile development environment, adapt to changing requirements based on our customers’ needs and deliver results under tight deadlines

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail

Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse and global teams and functions

Ability to learn fast about new technologies and frameworks, enthusiastic about AI & ML

Strong understanding of modern DevOp best practices and full life-cycle application development

Expertise in Python as well as JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Node, Express, and related frontend technologies

Experience with modern frontend frameworks and libraries, including Vue.js, Vuex, and Vue Router

Experience with Git and source code control

Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, RESTful APIs, and data management concepts

Knowledge of database design and proficiency in interacting with databases, including MongoDB or other NoSQL databases

Strong expertise in data visualization tools and techniques

Flexibility to hold virtual meetings to accommodate global schedules, but especially in PST, CST, or EST time zones

Familiarity with AWS (Amazon Web Services) or other cloud platforms, including setting up and configuring services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway

Understanding of frontend build tools, task runners, and bundlers (Webpack, Babel, Gulp, etc.)

Knowledge of Airtable or similar no-code/low-code database tools for managing structured data
