Responsibilities
Provide support and leadership in research compliance areas covered by the ORI.
Work with Institutional Review Boards (IRBs) and other compliance committees such as the Stem Cell Research Oversight.
Serve as a resource to faculty and ensure correct application of federal, state laws, and UC policy.
Facilitate the ethical conduct of research and collaborate with various campus and system-wide offices.

Required
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
Advanced degree in related area
Experience working with research administration
4 - 7 years of related experience
Professional experience in a higher education environment
Professional experience in a compliance or research environment
Demonstrated self-discipline and sound, independent judgment completing complex assignments
Thorough knowledge and ability to apply all relevant Federal, state, and university regulations, policies, and federal guidance documents
Ability to exercise good judgement in assessing risk level and contacting appropriate delegate during the review of research
Demonstrated proficiency in public speaking and writing
Ability to work in high-volume, high-pressure, and fast-paced environment to manage and prioritize a large task list with deadlines, frequent interruptions, and completing priorities
Preferred
Thorough knowledge and experience with quantitative and qualitative research design; scientific research concepts and terminology
Conflict of Interest: Understanding of stock options, consulting agreements, and other corporate documents related to research and analysis of potential conflicts of interest
Superb time management, organizational, and customer service skills
Detailed knowledge of substantial body of regulatory information regarding the protection of rights and welfare of human research participants (DHHS, OHRP, FDA, HIPPA)
