Responsibilities
Perform highly complex technical and operational IT support work, systems analysis, and administration.
Analyze, design, and develop operational procedures; apply automation tools to resolve operational problems.
Install, operate, administer, maintain, and upgrade complex operating systems; provide technical assistance to users.
Coordinate hardware, software, and service repairs; perform help desk functions for complex problems.
Interface with users, engineers, and other analysts for system projects and activities.
Assist in designing system and network growth; monitor and enhance computer and telecommunications systems.
Review plans for software and hardware equipment and services; research and evaluate technologies.
Analyze, research, and test changes in operating systems and system software for compatibilities and performance.
Work on security and disaster recovery needs; perform project management activities.
Assess user training needs; develop training programs and materials.
Represent the unit on committees and work directly with contractors and vendors.

Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Five years of experience in IT operations support, systems analysis, and systems and network administration
Experience in project management
Experience in computers, peripherals, and mobile device configuration
Experience working in a large network with multiple Local Area Networks (LANs) or in a major data center with multiple and distinct computers, servers, and associated networks
Ability to research problems, plan solutions, develop operational procedures, and recommend software and systems
Experience in integrating hardware, operating systems, and program applications
Experience in data and access protection processes
Experience in system backup and restoration
Experience in coordinating hardware, software, and service repairs
Experience in developing training programs and materials
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Certifications in relevant IT fields (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA)
Experience overseeing staff and operations in a supervisor's absence
Experience in help desk functions for complex problems
Experience in designing growth of systems and networks
Experience in monitoring and enhancing complex computer and telecommunications systems
Experience in developing City/County standards for LAN/WAN administration
Experience in reviewing plans for software and hardware equipment and services
Experience in assessing user training needs and developing training programs
Experience in project management activities on operations projects
Experience serving as lead over subordinate clerical or operations support staff
Experience coordinating a defined program
Experience working with contractors and vendors
Experience in system deployment and testing
Experience in representing the unit on committees
