Responsibilities
Provides expert direction in the pre-deal phase, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure site plans for upscale hotels meet brand requirements and market needs, optimizing owner’s pro-forma and brand alignment.
Acts as the primary point of contact post-contract, leading comprehensive design efforts from kickoff to hotel opening, ensuring adherence to brand specifications and design milestones.
Guide the owner’s Design team with the submittal process which includes documentation and specification review at required design milestones. This role will collaborate closely with the Upscale Interior Designers, Brand, Food & Beverage, and other disciplines during the submittal review process.
Regularly monitors project milestones, ensuring alignment with timelines and contractual obligations. This includes tracking design approvals, construction progress, and key deliverables.
Oversees construction from ground break to opening, managing design approvals, and tracking progress against expected milestones, facilitating contractual obligations and project readiness.
Delivers final project reports and tracks completion of outstanding items post-opening, ensuring a seamless transition and project closeout in alignment with brand standards.
Supports Upscale Brand Teams and Upscale Interior Designers on design initiatives and design implementation.

Required
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent.
5+ years’ experience preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry, commercial multi-family design development, and/or construction projects.
Expert level reading and interpretation of construction documents. Ability to produce conceptual design drawings and intent is a plus.
Strong presentation skills with the ability to illustrate design direction and communicate verbally and in writing is required.
Must be able to handle sometimes difficult conversations with franchisees to enforce brand requirements.
Must be able to execute and develop ideas and concepts into departmental programs.
High integrity and ability to work independently.
Strong leadership, interpersonal and business collaboration skills
Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
Strong knowledge and proficiency of computer software including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD 2D, Revit, Bluebeam is required.
Working knowledge of creating and reading build cost models and working with estimating consultants is required.
Ability to sketch, create plan diagrams and clear presentations with excellent graphic design skills is required.
Demonstrates key competencies to include Communicates Effectively, Plans and Aligns, and Drives for Results.
Preferred
Architectural license or pursuing Architectural license preferred.
