Responsibilities

Work on the development and design of subassemblies for lidar sensors involving silicon photonics, III-V photonics, and micro-optical components.

Develop and optimize micro-optical assembly processes for high-precision optical components.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of optical components.

Conduct experiments to evaluate process capabilities and troubleshoot assembly process issues.

Document process development activities, create standard operating procedures, and design sub-assemblies for light emitting devices.

Support thermo-mechanical modeling of customized photonic packages and reliability testing of photonic subassemblies.

Design and validate necessary tooling for optical packaging and testing, and support product transfer into production.

Required

B.S. / M.S. in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field + >5 years of industry experience, preference for Senior/Staff level experience

Experienced with optical assembly and testing in production environment

Experience with photonic integrated circuits

Experience with micro-optics package development

Experience with opto-electronic package design

Experience with mechanical design and prototypingWell organized, detail oriented self starter in a complex environment

Preferred

Ph. D in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field

Experience with NPI and contract manufacturing

Experience with optics design and simulation

Experience with optical module reliability qualification

Experience with lidar, radar or general sensor tech background
