Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate, and implement process methods that improve quality, safety, and productivity at the ladle refining and vacuum degassing station of the Melt Shop.
Assist in root cause analysis of steel making processes and develop corrective actions as a key Team Member of the Melt Shop Safety, Quality, and Production Teams.
Perform metallurgical evaluations and investigations of railway products and supplies. Record, report, and present these results to Quality and Production Team Members and customers.
Manage trials and operations to comply with defined conditions acceptable for quality. Work with Production and other Shops to produce high quality products.

Required
Bachelors of Science in Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Engineering with a metallurgy emphasis
Good working knowledge of statistical analysis for problem solving
Preferred
Industrial internship experience desired, but not required
