Responsibilities

Assumes responsibility for the initiation, planning, implementation, controlling, modifying, and executing of all or part of an entire project, including formulation of workload estimates and collaboration with business and technology partners.
Assists in determining the scope, goals, and schedules for future programs, acts as a troubleshooter, and develops proofs of concept or demonstrations to evaluate project solutions.
Identifies and assesses relevant data sources' validity and reliability, applies scientific, data mining, and statistical theory and methods, and communicates analytic solutions to stakeholders.

Required

Must be a U.S. Citizen or National and provide proof of U.S. Citizenship
Undergo a review of prior performance/conduct and an income tax verification
Successful completion of at least 1 to 2 years of continuous service depending on the position
Completion of at least 40 hours of interactive training

Meet the qualification position standards
Must have, within the previous 2 years, completed all educational requirements for a qualifying degree or certificate from a qualifying institution
Degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or related field
1 year of specialized experience at a level equivalent to GS-07 grade level
Experience applying critical thinking, reasoning, and scientific methods to design, execute, and present data science projects
Experience applying mathematical and statistical theories, principles, concepts, and practices related to data analysis
Experience using data mining process models to design and execute data science projects
Experience applying descriptive and inferential statistical methods to explore and evaluate data and models
Experience designing and leading experiments related to data science projects
Experience preparing and analyzing structured and unstructured datasets for data science projects
Experience applying a range of analytic approaches including machine learning, text analytics, and natural language processing
Experience coding in programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, and JAVA for data science projects
Experience creating and querying different datastores and architectures for data science projects
Communication skills to convey analytic solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Must submit dated documentation showing completion or intended completion of educational requirements
Must provide official transcript if selected
Must undergo personnel vetting including background investigation and enrollment in Continuous Vetting
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment
Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process
Obtain and use a government-issued charge card for business-related travel
