Responsibilities

Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale, enterprise network.

Has technical responsibility for complex project(s), including project requirements, specifications, and documentation.

Responsible for composing high-level architectures in collaboration with various LoB customers, converting those into detailed designs, documentation, and lead transformation of on-prem applications to cloud based networking.

Frequently develops scripts to automate non-traditional, complex tasks for business units.

Serves as a technical lead on network automation design and delivery projects.

Serves at Tier3 or specialized escalation point for network events and provides break-fix support for large-scale events. Serves as principal point of contact for driving systematic resolution of complex network issues/act as SME for root cause analysis efforts.

Leads network programs by defining high-level objectives and delivery procedures, including organizing project technical milestones & supporting tasks.

Provide supporting service teams with requirements and specifications to ensure solutions are properly supported by standard monitoring and automation systems.

Lead/coordinate multiple engineers in developing network solutions consisting of multiple modules with complex interactions

Participates in 24x7x365 on-call rotation schedule for Tier 3 escalation coverage.

Serves as technical SME in cross-functional activities with other divisional architects to create technology roadmaps and collaborate with senior leadership

Participates in the development of RFQ/RFPs.

Required

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience

At least 12 years of related professional experience

Experience with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and SSL.

Experience with Network Segmentation and Zero Trust Networking.

Experience with Internet peering and inter-domain networking.

Experience with Enterprise networking. Layer 2 (Wired & Wireless) & Layer 3.

Experience with Identity Systems.

Experience with high level software design/development.

Experience with new product development, interoperability testing, and global releases

Demonstrated knowledge in a scripting or compiled language for automation and datacenter design

Experience with automation systems, framework design/use and deployment.

Experience with network modeling and programming – YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF.

Knowledge of network security design, system performance characterization and testing.

Exposure to commodity Ethernet, Firewall and networking hardware (Fortinet, Juniper, Broadcom/Arista/F5/Cisco)

Protocol experience with BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, SDWAN, ZTNA.

Knowledge of data flow and telemetry design, deployment and operation.

Excellent judgment in influence for product roadmap direction, features, and priorities.

Demonstrated ability to drive hardware vendors for compliance, new and existing platform code testing for vulnerabilities / risk mitigation, and bug scrubs.

Able to carry out technical coaching sessions, develop executive briefings, and helps junior members develop skills.

Capable of working under limited supervision.

Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Preferred

Experience working in a large Enterprise environment

Experience working in a large ISP or cloud provider environment

Demonstrated knowledge of Ansible, Python and/or Terraform for automation and datacenter design.
