Responsibilities
Conceiving and conducting user research, interviews, and surveys, and translating them into sitemaps, wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
Designing the overall customer-facing interface of the product and iterating upon it to ensure a great user experience.
Optimizing application front-end for maximum speed and usability.
Facilitating customers' and product owners' product visions by researching, conceiving, wireframing, sketching, prototyping, and mocking up user experiences.
Identifying design problems and devising elegant solutions.
Making strategic design and user-experience decisions related to core and new functions and features.
Taking a human-centered design approach and rapidly testing and iterating designs.
Collaborating with back-end and front-end developers to improve usability.
Taking smart risks and championing new ideas.
Collaborating with a cross-functional team of designers, product managers, and engineers on all phases of the product development life cycle.
Incorporating best practices for accessibility, usability, web performance, and design into the product and ultimately championing a more consistent and delightful user experience.
Providing mentorship to other front-end engineers and designers in all aspects of UX development.
Performing subjective and objective research both qualitatively and quantitatively to gather deep end-user understanding.
Performing usability/heuristic evaluations and validations across the product or solution life-cycle.

Required
Must have DOD Secret level clearance to start; U.S. Citizen required only for Federal Clearance Requirement
Certification Requirements: Directive 8570.1/8140 - IAT II: Security+
BA/BS or equivalent experience
Minimum 6 years (or Masters or equivalent experience and 4+ years) of experience in UI/UX development and/or product development
Experience developing with Angular, React, Vaadin, or Vue
Experience with CSS frameworks, JavaScript, jQuery
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment
Experience employing an iterative, user-centric design process in UX design/interactive prototyping
Experience taking input from multiple sources and synthesizing it into coherent design ideas
Experience defining interaction models, creating userflows, storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes
Detail-oriented and a highly motivated self-starter that is able to work closely in a collaborative role with other team members
Excellent communication, collaboration and teaming skills and experience
Preferred
Navy experience
SAFe experience and knowledge
Designing/developing for Mobile Applications
Knowledge of SEO principles
Understanding of and/or experience designing for 508 Compliance
