Responsibilities

Scope, prioritize, organize, and manage research initiatives focused on growing Okta’s ISV ecosystem

Exercise flexibility in research methodology by designing and utilizing generative studies or evaluative research

Facilitate cross-discipline research to drive clarity and decision-making

Design mechanisms to build up customer empathy and deep knowledge of partners, end users, consumers, and administrators

Represent research findings to diverse audiences across the organization

Handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently

Provide coaching and mentorship to more junior researchers/employees at Okta

Grow and develop a research practice that unlocks partner and customer insights and value

Required

Proven experience as an embedded UX Researcher with a track record of identifying and elevating user needs and driving the delivery of value to them.

Effective systems thinking capabilities with an open mind and ability to think holistically, rather than rely on a predictable formula or a linear approach

Experience utilizing a variety of mixed methods in research (e.g., usability studies, contextual inquiry, surveys, etc.)

Able to leverage research to make the business successful, applying your technical understanding to accomplish company goals.

Proficiency in communicating user research findings with cross-functional partners to drive impact

Experience with products made for developers, administrators, or other technical audiences

Strong ability to plan, prioritize and organize effectively and collectively, with their manager and cross-functional partners, determine a roadmap

Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities while working with constraints

History of effective communication with all levels of management and company personnel

Empathy for users, knowledge of and passion for technical experiences

Excellent communication skills

Possess empathy for users, knowledge of and passion for the technical experiences

Preferred

Experience working on security products (and especially SaaS or enterprise technology) is a plus

Experience facilitating large cross-functional groups to achieve a common goal

Are a voracious learner and coach to people around you, raising the bar for the team.

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in anthropology, sociology, psychology, human-computer interaction (or other related field)
