Responsibilities
Direct, plan, manage, review, and participate in the work of the Development Review Unit.
Prepare reports, design documents, construction schedules, and project designs.
Coordinate project design and construction with other governing agencies.
Meet with developers, engineers, and contractors to resolve project conflicts.
Analyze storm sewers and drainage ways to recommend changes.
Utilize engineering programs and design software for project evaluation.
Attend neighborhood meetings to discuss projects with property owners.
Manage project development from beginning to end and define project scope.
Participate in the development of the Engineering Division annual budget.
Recommend and implement goals, objectives, and practices for effective services.
Assist with the selection, negotiation, and management of professional services contracts.

Required
Four years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience including direct work experience in project management
Two years of experience managing publicly owned projects and/or infrastructure development review experience preferred
One year of administrative and supervisory responsibility preferred
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field
Possession of an appropriate, valid driver's license and ability to maintain insurability
Registration as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina or ability to obtain within six months of date of hire
