Responsibilities
Work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
Design, develop, and implement both client and internal facing applications and provide technology tools that help drive NYS strategic initiatives.
Use enterprise architecture across application areas to build delivery models that map capabilities to business needs outlined by NYS.
Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
As part of application support lifecycle address defects and enhancements.
Participate in incident resolution post-implementation as required.
Plan and design web pages and apps using UX principles to create digital products.
Program the front-end using front-end programming languages like HTML, CSS, or JavaScript to create layouts, interactive features, or execute other design ideas.
Collaborate with UX and engineering teams to develop products, conduct user testing, A/B testing, and other forms of research.
Create and carry out user research plans (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.), including planning and facilitating design thinking workshops, creating UX deliverables, planning and conducting usability testing, working closely with developers, collecting quantitative and qualitative UX metrics, and designing for multi-device web, iOS, and Android contexts.

Required
5 years of UI experience
5 years of UX experience
Experience in producing user experience prototypes that require coding
Experience in planning and designing web pages and apps using UX principles
Front-end programming skills using languages like HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
Ability to collaborate with UX and engineering teams
Experience in creating and carrying out user research plans
Experience in creating UX deliverables such as sketches, user stories, user flows, and interactive prototypes
Experience in planning and conducting usability testing
Experience in designing for multi-device web, iOS, and Android contexts
