Senior Project Engineer

Responsibilities
In conjunction with the Project Manager, direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority for the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of heavy civil construction projects within the area of assigned responsibility.
Develop effective plans for constructing the project, provide input to determine the means and methods necessary to meet project goals, and monitor and update the project schedule throughout the duration of the project.
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical information, disseminate to the Project Team, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design details.
Research drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, etc., and work with owner and others to resolve issues. Prepare field design change requisitions as required; generate requests for information (RFIs).
Read and understand elements of all required/applicable contracts, act as the Allan Myers authority on contract between the owner and Allan Myers, and assist in identifying potential safety issues.
Work with Purchasing Department to ensure all required purchase orders and subcontracts are finalized in a timely and cost-effective manner. Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with contract provisions.
Maintain excellent customer satisfaction levels, address client concerns, and produce all correspondence, submittals, shop drawings, billings, etc., with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Seek better, faster, and safe methods to perform work and demonstrate Allan Myers Leadership qualities by being proactive, accountable, discerning, innovative, collaborative, integrity-based, successful, and balanced.

Required
Minimum 4 years of experience in a construction management (estimating, operations, and/or engineering) role.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related major, or equivalent required.
OSHA 30 hour required.
Must possess working knowledge of contract administration systems, job cost management, change order management, labor & equipment reporting, planning, and scheduling, preconstruction planning, safety policies and procedures, safe work procedures.
Preferred
FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) and PE (Professional Engineer) certification desirable.
Continuing education in construction is highly desirable.
