Responsibilities
Operate specialized equipment such as lathes, vertical milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, band saw welder, sheet metal shears, sheet metal brakes, and punch presses.
Perform wood working and carpentry tasks for various projects.
Utilize tools to work to precision tolerances using micrometers calipers, squares, depth micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, sine bars, height gauges, and surface plates.
Assist in moving and placement of furniture and equipment within the College.
Manage shop projects and resources, maintain a work order system, determine workflow and equipment needs for projects.
Design and construct tooling, special fixtures, experimental research instruments, and equipment from CAD drawings, blueprints, or sketches.
Oversee student organizations and capstone utilizing CoE Remote Machine Shop setting, conduct training, and workshops for faculty, students, and staff.
Responsible for maintenance and repair of all shop machinery and equipment, establish and propagate Machine shop safety standards and best practices.

Required
High School diploma or equivalent and vocational training or an approved apprenticeship program in machine shop operations
4 Years of position-related experience
Applicant should have welding certification
Preferred
A highly capable and certified welder with experience in teaching others welding techniques and safe practices
Possesses some supervisory experience and strong organizational skills
Skilled in ensuring the safe use of all machine shop equipment, identifying unsafe conditions, and managing corrective actions effectively
