Responsibilities

Own back-end services including fleet management, front-end services like WhatsApp/Instagram/Facebook/Meta Ads, infrastructure components supporting AI advancements, core services used across Meta, large-scale MySQL deployments, and networking systems

Write and review code, develop documentation and capacity plans, debug complex problems on live systems

Share on-call rotation and act as an escalation contact for service incidents

Collaborate with top engineers in the industry to work on high-impact projects used by billions of people worldwide

Required

Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta.

2+ years of experience in UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals

2+ years of coding experience

Experience learning development languages (Python, C++, Rust, PHP/Hack, Go, Java)

Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs

Experience with Internet service architecture capacity planning and/or handling needs for urgent capacity augmentation

Knowledge of common web technologies and/or Internet service architectures (such as LAMP or MEAN stacks, CDN, Load Balancing techniques, etc.)

Experience configuring and running infrastructure level applications, such as Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL, etc.
